Summer is officially in full swing, which means there are activities to do every day! This July, various events are coming to the beach, some reoccurring, others happening for the first time.
You can enjoy the beautiful summer nights watching an outdoor movie or listening to music, sign up for a 5K run, or find the perfect spot to spend your Fourth of July with family and friends.
The best part is that the events are happening all month long, so you’ll definitely be able to add a few of them to your list!
Independence Day Weekend
Fourth of July Festivities
There is truly nowhere better to be for the Fourth of July than at the beach. There are spectacular fireworks displays over the ocean and events lasting all night long. Choose the location you like and see what amazing views accompany it on this one-night-a-year event.
Salute From The Shore
This holiday tradition includes a display of civilian-owned vintage jets as well as F-16s from the McEntire Joint National Guard Base and a C-17 from Charleston Air Force Base. The modern jets begin their flyover at approx. 1 p.m. at Cherry Grove, passing Myrtle Beach at 1:03 p.m. and Pawleys Island at 1:06 p.m. Beachgoers are encouraged to arrive early. Those wanting to see the vintage jets will want to attend from Murrells Inlet or further south, as these crafts will begin their flight there.
Independence Day at The Family Beach
Head down to Surfside Beach for a family-friendly 4th of July Celebration in Memorial Park from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 4. There will be live music by Kendall Langford, food trucks, Kidz Zone with foam, games, giveawaays, stilt walkers, balloon artists, face painting and more.
Murrells Inlet Boat Parade
Watch the annual Murrells Inlet Boat Parade at the Marshwalk to see what decorations and themes people have used this year to commemorate the holiday. Parade begins at 5:30 p.m., fireworks will light up the sky at 10 p.m. and there will be live music and festivities all day long.
The Hangout 4th Party
Get ready to light up the Fourth with The Hangout at Broadway at the Beach. This unique party will feature live music all night long, foam parties, hourly dance parties and fresh seafood and family fun foods.
4th of July Fireworks
In addition to those seen all up and down the coast by amateurs, you can find a great fireworks display at the Cherry Grove Pier beginning at 9:30 p.m. on the 4th. Other firework displays at 10 p.m. that night include Barefoot Landing, and Broadway at the Beach.

One of the coolest things about summer at The Beach is that fireworks aren’t only for the Fourth of July. You can see them all summer long at some of your favorite places around the Grand Strand. Here's a look at all the July fireworks displays:
Pelicans Baseball Stadium
The stadium has a firework display every night after a home game. It’s the perfect opportunity to watch a game and enjoy the additional show afterward with your favorite baseball snack. The dates are as follows:

Myrtle Beach Boardwalk
One of the best spots for watching fireworks is over the ocean. Luckily, you have the chance to watch them every Wednesday in July at 9 p.m. The display is shot from Second Avenue Pier, so bring your beach towels and snacks to watch the show.

Barefoot Landing
Located in North Myrtle Beach, this outdoor shopping district attracts visitors from all around. Spend your evening shopping in the boutique stores and lounging at one of the many restaurants, before you watch their fireworks display that commences at 10 p.m. The dates are as follows:

Broadway at the Beach
Last but certainly not least, Broadway at the Beach is known for its summer events, especially its annual fireworks. The show lights up the complex at 10:00 PM, creating an unforgettable atmosphere as you and your family watch in awe of the different colors and designs. The dates are as follows:

Independence Day 5Ks
If you’re a sport or running guru, don’t let being on vacation stop you from doing what you love! This July there are two 5K’s available and they both encourage you to have fun by dressing with a special theme.
15th annual Independence Day 5K
In Market Commons off Farrow Parkway is the annual Fourth of July run. Participants are encouraged to dress up in red, white, and blue to win additional prizes and have a little extra fun. Attendees can opt for the 5K, one-mile run, or the free Stars and Stripes Kids’ Dash (50 yards) The 5K will start at 7:00 AM, the one-mile run at 7:30 AM, and Kids’ Dash at 8:00 AM. Each participant will receive a T-shirt and bib.

6th Annual Red, White, and Blue Run/Walk
Similar to the Fourth of July run, the Red, White, and Blue race is on July 6 at Barefoot Landing. The same encouragement applies to dressing up in colors, however, this run only has the option for a 5K at 7:30 or the Kids’ Dash at 8:30.

Country star Lorrie Morgan, the first woman in her genre to begin her career with three consecutive Platinum albums, will perform at the Alabama Theatre in North Myrtle Beach for her Ruby Anniversary Tour in support of her brand new album "Dead Girl Walking" released in June. She'll perform hits like "Five Minutes", "What Part of No" and "Something in Red" and wow the crowd with her dynamic performing that has carried her career across five decades. Myrtle Beach's most well-known music hall, the House of Blues at Barefoot Landing has a busy July planned with a series of top-notch touring acts coming to town. Here's a look at the schedule:
- Friday, July 5: Hobo Johnson will perform his unique fusion of spoken word, indie rock, and hip-hop, characterized by raw, emotive lyrics and unconventional storytelling style. Show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets begin at $27.50.

Myrtle Beach Pelicans
Pelicans Ballpark / Myrtle Beach
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Single A affiliates of the Chicago Cubs, kick their season into high-gear this July with three homestands in July against the likes of the Charleston Riverdogs (July 1-3), the Kannapolis Cannonballers (July 9-14) and the Augusta GreenJackets (July 23-28).
To celebrate Independence Day, the birds will don their "Red, White & Blue" uniforms against the Riverdogs with fireworks after the game each night. The Kannapolis series will feature "Thirsty Thursday" on July 11 with $2 Bud & Bud Light drafts and "Touch a Truck" night on Friday, July 12. The series against Augusta will feature promotions including another "Thirsty Thursday" on July 25 and "Christmas in July" Night on Friday, July 26 with an appearance from Santa Claus. Single game tickets begin at $14 each.
Summer Light: Art by Night
Brookgreen Gardens / Murrells Inlet
Throughout the summer, Brookgreen Gardens hosts "Summer Light: Art by Night," an enchanting evening event where art and nature merge under a canopy of stars. From 6 PM to 10 PM on selected dates, visitors can explore beautifully lit sculptures and lush garden paths, creating a magical atmosphere perfect for a serene summer night out. In July, the event is held on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings, with tickets priced at $30 for adults and $20 for children, ensuring an affordable yet immersive artistic experience.
Cool off with Indoor Fun
Summer is officially here and with it comes the heat (and humidity) that July tends to bring. With heat indexes sure to soar, not only is it a good time to come inside for a break, but chances are you may experience a pop-up storm at some point during your trip — don't worry, they usually pass quickly! All that said, there's tons of fun to be had indoors around The Beach, with attractions like Ripley's Aquarium, Coastal Grand Mall, 810 Bowling & Billards, the art museum and more!
